Ao Yun is the LVMH-owned winery located in the uniquely beautiful and remote Yunnan province of China. The estate makes both white and red wines, single-village wines, a grand vin (Ao Yun) and a second vin (Xiao Yun). Each is memorable in its own way, with the Grand Vin truly ranking among the world’s best red wines.
Ao Yun is nestled at the foot of the Meili mountains in the area of the Himalayas, the world’s tallest mountain range that boasts the very well-known Mt. Everest. The winery’s name itself, Ao Yun, means “roaming above the clouds”, but the locals refer to Ao Yun as the “Adong winery” because that village was chosen as the site for the winery back in 2014.
