Viberti is one of the most improved estates in all Barolo. The quality of the wines has grown by leaps and bounds ever since Claudio Viberti, the new generation showed up at the helm. Considering the quality and prestige of the estate’s vineyards, it was only a matter of time but as it is never a given outcome, all wine lovers can rejoice in this good news. It’s not that the wines were horrible before, they weren’t: but today’s wines are excellent, the product of a young enthusiastic team (especially Andrea Mastrantuono, winemaker, and Andrea Masuelli, Export Manager) working in more modern ways, with the result being the Viberti wines now belong in the upper echelons of Barolo winery royalty. Just as it was with other producers I first turned the world onto like La Morra’s Trediberri, is is now the turn of Viberti.
