On Friday, June 11, one of Tuscany’s leading estates, Tenuta Sette Ponti, celebrated the twenty-fifth anniversary of its portfolio’s most famous wine, Oreno, in a truly one-of-a-kind and spectacular way.

The Tenuta Sette Ponti is so-called because of the road that connects Florence to Arezzo that is characterized by seven bridges. One of them, the Ponte Buriano, is believed to be the bridge seen in the background of the world’s most famous painting, Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. Antonio Moretti Cuseri took over the family estate in the 1990s and in 1998 stopped selling grapes to others and began making his own wine. The first wine to be released for sale was the Crognolo (a Sangiovese made with aspecial old clone from the Vigna dell’Impero), followed in 1999 by the first Oreno. In 2018, he is joined by his children Amedeo (CEO and in charge of the Italian market) and Alberto (export director and in charge of communication).

The event celebrating 25 years of Oreno was memorable, staged in an unbelievably unique and beautiful setting overlooking the Arno River. Suffice it to say the event took months of planning, including speaking with local authorities about diverting traffic to the area. Guests from all over the world attended, including wine writers like James Suckling and Ian D’Agata. The evening featured a three course menu with the Oreno 2024 the only wine served, music and plenty time to relax with old friends. In the words of Antonio Moretti “Oreno is something to be proud of, not just for our family but Arezzo. We wanted to celebrate a wine with which we have all or can all share in happy, beautiful moments”.
