The following is an excerpt from the brand new book Barbaresco Terroir: Grapes crus People Places, written by Ian D’Agata and Michele Longo and that is now available at Amazon Books (amazon.com).
This is a major scoop of the just published book as it helps rewrite, correctly, the reality of what has been believed to be until now the exact chronology and years in which each of the Produttori del Barbaresco’s Barbaresco Riserva wines were first released. Each such wine, much admired, sought after, and bought by wine lovers and collectors all over the world, is made from a specific cru of Barbaresco. For example, many such wine lovers and collectors are probably not even aware that the Produttori del Barbaresco also released a Barbaresco from the Casotto vineyard area (today, Casotto, or Casot as it has also long been called, is a specific subzone of the Ovello cru/MGA, but in the past it was being bottled separately by more than one producer, such as for example Boffa).
