In Riais Baixas, Galicia, Sanxenxo is the most touristic of the many small towns in the epicenter of Albariño wine production. But unlike many touristry towns, the dining scene is above board, and the Casa Aurora Vinos y Comida is a shining example of this happy state of affairs. The place has recently been renewed bringing back the original façade in place many years ago while having a very modern, breezy, seaside feel to it with lots of white and pale blue colours that evoke the sea, the sky, and the clouds. Both the inside and the outside terrace are comfortable and reasonably spaciuos, and to be able to look at the boardwalk and the port and beach in front of the restaurant is a nice touch. We were there in mid-June and sitting outside was not at all hot, and we were there having lunch. But the restaurant also boasts superior food, attention to ingredients and a very good wine list, so there’s a lot of other stuff to like about it too.
