Santadi is the name of a small hamlet on the western side of Sardinia, but it is also the name of the most important and best wine cooperative of Sardinia, one of Italy’s twenty regions and the second largest island of the Mediterranean. In fact a good case can be made that Santadi, an outfit that makes world-class wines at all price points, ranks along with the Produttori di Barbaresco in Piedmont and the better-known Alto Adige coops (Nalles-Magrè, San Michele Appiano, Terlano, Tramin), as one of Italy’s very best cooperative wineries.
