Da Fortunato in Rome (not to be confused with the popular chain of da Fortunata restaurants with the gimmicky show of older ladies in the window making the pasta) is a traditional, old-school Roman restaurant located in one of the two small alleyways that take you towards (or away, depending on your direction) from one of the world’s most stunningly beautiful ancient buildings, the Pantheon. In many respects, Da Fortunato is somewhat ancient too, as everything about it harkens to a time long gone by. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing: a blast from the past can provide a refreshing moment of nostalgia, taking you back to a past in which the world was, most likely, a better place (Italy, for sure).
