Lorenzo Mattoni is one of Italy’s up-and-coming wine producers, and you’ll soon be hearing more of his excellent white and red wines made in the territory of Montefalco in Umbria.

In Umbria’s beautiful Montefalco denomination (Montefalco and especially Bevagna are two of Italy’s prettier medieval towns), the name of the wine game was long that of the cooperative known as Consorzio Agrario Provinciale Enopolio di Foligno, founded in the early 1950s that later became Terre de Trinci (in honour of the famous local medieval family). The first president and founder was Lodovico Mattoni, father of the sibling duo of Lorenzo Mattoni and Nicola Mattoni. Lorenzo now has his own eponymous estate, and Nicola is the winemaker of Terre de Trinci (since 2013).
