The Cantina Bolzano or Kellerei Bozen, at 3 million bottles annual production and a whopping 350 hectares under its control thanks to the land owned by almost 250 families of ten different Alto Adige communes, is one of Alto Adige’s, and Italy’s, leading and high-quality cooperatives. In reality, the Cantina Bolzano as we know it today is Alto Adige’s youngest cooperative of them all, born only in 2001 from the fusion of two pre-existing much older and smaller cooperatives, the Cantina di Gries and the Cantina Santa Maddalena.
